Our Albany, NY area client is looking to add an Instructional Designer and Trainer to their team. This 1-year contract position does have the possibility of extension. The ideal candidate will come to the table with approximately 2-3 years of training creation and experience.

Job Overview

The Instructional Designer and Trainer will aid in the coordination and implementation annual Learning & Development plan with a focus on supporting plan objectives and deliverables, and long-term strategic goals.

Primary Responsibilities

• Participate in discovery and requirement gathering sessions for future training development.


• Develop and manage training communications, plans, outlines, scripts, and PowerPoint presentations.


• Develop eLearning training courses utilizing Articulate, Camtasia, and Smart Courses for Confluence.


• Facilitates review and approval sessions with stakeholders for training deliverables.


• Create and manage post-training deliverables such as, but not limited to reporting, surveys, and assessments.


• Support the administration of Learning Management System (Confluence).


• Migrate critical knowledge artifacts to Confluence.


• Develop new and update existing learning resources in Confluence.


• Capture/Create/Curate images, screenshots, and/or digital recordings for training materials.


• Support and/or facilitate the administration of live/remote training events.


• Track, complete, and update project tasks in Asana.

Minimum Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience utilizing eLearning authoring tools to develop self-paced training courses.


• Demonstrated experience with video production and graphic/visual design.


• Demonstrated experience solving complex training problems with patience, poise, and creativity.


• Familiarity with incorporating adult learning principles into training deliverables.


• Ability to learn complete systems and processes quickly, translating them into easy to use and understand instructions n and guidance.


• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of programs.


• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, verbally and orally, while collaborating with multiple stakeholders.


• Skill in managing multiple priorities, delivering on commitments, and operating with speed, accuracy, and solid judgment.


• Strong work ethic.

· Education

• Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to training development & delivery, learning & development, marketing & communications, or similar discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of Asana, Articulate, Camtasia, and Confluence.


• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint.


• Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint, Peoplesoft, and Salesforce
