Hospitality Supervisor
Our client, The NY Racing Association, is looking to add a seasoned Hospitality Supervisor to their team for the Summer 2025 Racing meet. This position will begin in early June and go through Labor Day. The position offers full time hours and will be a Wednesday - Sunday work schedule. The position will pay $20 per hour.
The Hospitality Supervisor is responsible for overseeing staff, maintaining dining room operations, ensuring guest satisfaction, and coordinating with business partners to deliver a seamless hospitality experience. This role requires excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills to ensure the efficient functioning of hospitality services. This position is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic hospitality setting and enjoys ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for both staff and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Management:
- Train new staff members on job expectations and responsibilities.
- Provide company-issued uniforms to all staff members.
- Track staff schedule availability, time-off requests, call-outs, and time cards.
- Collaborate with staffing agencies to ensure all legal documents are collected as needed.
- Organize staff break schedules and assign responsibilities to optimize operations.
- Respond to staff needs to foster a positive work environment and enhance the guest experience.
Dining Room Operations:
- Ensure table placement and chair arrangements match room layout and ticket sales.
- Request maintenance for any broken tables or furniture.
- Move chairs to and from storage as required.
- Number tables for organization and efficiency.
- Monitor and address bee activity to maintain guest comfort.
- Maintain host stations by stocking menus and receipt paper.
Guest Experience Management:
- Greet guests and assist with reservation check-ins.
- Offer special access options to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Provide assistance and information to guests as needed.
- Partner with dining staff and management to resolve guest concerns.
- Work closely with the sales team to address and resolve reservation-related issues.
Business Partnerships:
- Collaborate with the sales team to sell tables, prepare for daily operations, and resolve reservation issues.
- Meet with kitchen and dining room managers to review guest needs, staffing concerns, and daily business goals.
- Coordinate with staffing agencies to distribute literature, paychecks, and other necessary materials.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Distribute and collect wristbands as needed.
- Laminate and crop menus for dining areas.
- Organize and track company iPads, chargers, and keys.
- Manage and distribute gifts for staff.
- Pick up and deliver packages and mail between locations.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant, or event supervision preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in scheduling, staffing, and basic administrative tasks.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a focus on guest satisfaction.
- Ability to lift and move furniture as needed.
Work Environment:
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods.
- May involve lifting and moving furniture or other equipment.
