Finance Assistant
Our NYS Energy client is looking to add to their Finance Team. The team is looking to add a Finance Aide/ Accounts Payable. This 1-year contract role will be based in Albany, NY and will offer hybrid schedule. They are looking for a candidate with at least 1-3 years' experience as well as experiences with administrative invoices. Our client is looking for a candidate that is available to start in early December.
Requirements include:
- 1-3 years of experience in an AP role, or a combination of education and experience in accounting, finance, or business:
- Accounts Payable experience required;
- Excellent analytical and organization skills;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Proficiency in the Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word);
- Detail oriented;
- Ability to respond to written inquiries and telephone calls from employees, NYS agencies and vendors;
- Ability to locate, research, communicate and document any discrepancies or unusual circumstances; and
- Ability to assess multiple competing priorities.
- Ensure invoices comply with contract/program terms, having proper documentation, and are paid in accordance with NYSERDA’s prompt payment policy;
- Determine that costs billed are consistent with the amounts contained in the budget and the funds remain in the contact or specific task work order to process the invoice for payment;
- Review invoice cost allocation codes and makes edits, as necessary;
- Assist with vendor research for proper form 1099 tax reporting;
- Vendor creation and maintenance in the Authority’s information system;
- Interact daily with internal and external customers;
- Respond to audit documentation requests;
